DUBAI: The dead body of former president General (R) Pervez Musharraf will reach Karachi today.
The Pakistan Consulate General in Dubai has completed preparations to transport the dead body of former president General (R) Pervez Musharraf to Karachi. The Consulate General issued the NOC for transporting Pervez Musharraf’s body to Karachi on Sunday.
Body to reach via special flight
The body will be transported on a special flight from Al Maktoum International Airport in Jebel Ali, 37 kilometres southwest of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport.
The Pakistani mission in the UAE is facilitating late Musharraf’s family to bring his body to Pakistan. General (R) Pervez Musharraf passed away in Dubai aged 79 after a prolonged illness on Sunday. He had been undergoing treatment at an American Hospital in Dubai.
The former president and COAS had been suffering from a rare disease, amyloidosis, caused by a build-up of an abnormal protein called amyloid in tissues and organs throughout the body.
