TEXAS: US basketball player Brittney Griner departed from a medical facility and is going back to home, US media reported on Friday. Recently, Brittney Griner was released from detention in Russia.
In her first public statement since she returned to the United States following a prisoner swap between Washington and Moscow, Brittney Griner in an Instagram post said that she is going home after undergoing check-ups at an army-run medical center in Texas, US.
Brittney Griner’s next plans
Brittney Griner said that she wants to play basketball in this season, and thanked those who advocated for her release. Brittney said that it feels so good to be home.

The star spent 10 months in a Russian jail, as her family, other players and the government of the US pushed for her early release.
She was arrested and sentenced to 9 years in prison following Russian officials arrested her at Moscow airport just a few days before Russia attacked Ukraine.
