ISLAMABAD: British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott, called on Pakistan Air Force Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu at Air Headquarters on Thursday.
During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest, with particular attention given to the current geopolitical landscape and emerging regional security challenges. She was accompanied by a delegation of the British Armed Forces.
The Air Chief underscored the strong and friendly relations existing between the two nations, emphasizing his commitment to enhancing the collaborative partnership between these two key allies.
He provided the British High Commissioner with insights into the ongoing modernization efforts within the Pakistan Air Force and highlighted the notable progress achieved in recent years.

The Chief of the Air Staff also reiterated the PAF’s dedication to developing indigenous solutions to meet its operational needs. In reference to the historical partnership between the two countries, the Air Chief further remarked, “Given the current global security environment and the evolving dynamics of air warfare, an enhanced partnership between Pakistan and the United Kingdom is imperative. Both countries share robust strategic and historical ties, firmly based on mutual consensus regarding critical matters related to regional peace and stability.”
The British High Commissioner expressed admiration for the PAF’s efforts in bolstering its defence capabilities. She also pledged to contribute to further strengthening cooperation in the training domain, with the goal of ensuring the highest level of training for PAF personnel, equipping them to confront the evolving challenges of modern warfare effectively.
