LAHORE: The British High Commissioner in Pakistan, Jane Marriott, held a meeting with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at Raiwind on Monday.
During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest in the presence of PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and the Party’s Chief Organizer, Maryam Nawaz.
During the meeting, Nawaz Sharif emphasized the importance of strong relations between Britain and Pakistan, highlighting the significant role played by Pakistanis residing in Britain in fostering positive ties between the two nations. He stressed the need to enhance connections in various sectors, including trade and investment.
British High Commissioner Jane Marriott acknowledged the crucial nature of the general elections scheduled for February 8, stating that they were vital for the future of Pakistan. She also extended congratulations to Nawaz Sharif for securing acquittal in different cases.
Bilawal, US Ambassador Discuss Political Situation in Pakistan
Meanwhile, US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome met with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and discussed current political situations and the significance of free, fair, and inclusive elections.
The meeting also touched upon the robust US-Pakistan trade and investment relationship and the development of the US-Pakistan’ Green Alliance’ framework, highlighting the ongoing engagements between the ambassador and various Pakistani political stakeholders.
