MUZAFFARGARH: The local population department organized a discussion session on breastfeeding to mark “Breastfeeding Week” here at its office Thursday.
Farzana Kusar, the district officer for the population department, stated in her opening remarks that mother’s milk provided newborns with a balanced diet. She claimed that because the mother fed the child for two years, there was a natural gap in the birth of the subsequent child.
Dr. Gul Rana, the deputy district population welfare officer, urged mothers to breastfeed their infants for two years to prevent breast cancer. Mohammed Imran, a professional from Green who highlighted the value of nursing, claimed that it improves immunity in newborns.
Muhammad Nasir Surah, a deputy district officer, read a sacred text from Surah al Bakra in which God instructs women to nourish their children for two years. He said it boosts immunity and strengthens the child’s defenses against infectious diseases. —APP
