RIO DE JANEIRO: Brazil’s Minister for Institutional Relations Alexandre Padilha announced on Friday that President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will reshuffle the cabinet after a visit to Africa.

He is widely expected to make changes in the country’s cabinet to take more support to his government in Congress, naming several persons from center-right and centrist parties as member of cabinet.
The Minister said Andre Fufuca and Silvio Costa Filho will both join the cabinet, but did not give more details in this regard. Alexandre Padilha told the media that the expected reshuffle will help the Brazil’s government advance its lawmaking priorities in Congress.
Among the current government’s top legislative agenda items are the approval of proposals by Finance Minister to increase tax revenue to hold its fiscal deficit and reform of the country’s complex tax system.
