SAO PAULO: Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has urged for an immediate ceasefire and called for international humanitarian intervention in the ongoing conflict between Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories.
In a statement shared on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, President Lula emphasized the urgent need for intervention to put an end to human rights violations in the region.
Lula’s statement stressed the necessity of international humanitarian intervention to address the escalating crisis. He emphasized the critical need for a ceasefire to protect Palestinian children caught in the Israeli airstrikes.

Israel’s Airstrikes on Innocent Palestinian Civilians
The President called on Hamas resistance group to release Israeli nationals who were reportedly made hostage and urged Israel to halt relentless bombings on Gaza Strip resulting in martyrdom of more than 1,100 innocent Palestinians and leaving countless injures. He highlighted the importance of allowing Palestinian children and their mothers to leave the Gaza Strip and cross the border into Egypt safely.
Additionally, Lula stated that Brazil, currently presiding over the UN Security Council, is prepared to actively engage in efforts to achieve an immediate and definitive resolution to the conflict.
