LOS ANGELES: Hollywood star Brad Pitt and jewellery designer Ines de Ramon are reportedly going through a rough patch in their relationship, with sources claiming they disagree over the future direction of their three-year relationship — particularly regarding marriage and children.

According to RadarOnline.com, both Pitt and de Ramon are keen to start a family. However, the two are said to be “not on the same page” about the timing.

The outlet cited a source as saying that de Ramon, the ex-wife of The Vampire Diaries actor Paul Wesley, wants a stronger commitment before taking the next step.

“She’s an old-fashioned gal at heart,” the source said as quoted by RadarOnline.com. “She adores Brad and would love to have his baby, but not if he’s dragging his feet on marriage.”

The insider added that the “bottom line” for de Ramon is a ring before she agrees to have a child with the actor. “She needs him to prove how much he cares.”

The report also noted that Pitt, 60, has adopted a more relaxed “go with the flow” approach to their relationship, which has reportedly caused tension.

Pitt’s desire to have children with de Ramon is said not to be linked to his estrangement from his six children with former wife Angelina Jolie. A source stressed that his intentions to start a new family are not about “filling the void.”

These revelations come just weeks after Pitt and de Ramon made a glamorous appearance at the premiere of his upcoming Formula 1-themed film F1 in New York City.

The couple appeared affectionate on the red carpet, with de Ramon wearing a striking halterneck top and feathered skirt, while Pitt looked dashing in a navy-black suit.

However, observers on social media pointed out moments where Pitt appeared to brush off de Ramon’s attempts at public displays of affection, including an alleged snub during a kiss attempt, as shared by fans on X.

The incident followed a similar moment at the Venice Film Festival in 2024, where Pitt reportedly ignored de Ramon while accepting a standing ovation for his role in Wolfs, while fellow actor George Clooney affectionately acknowledged his wife Amal.

Social media commentary around the so-called “non-kiss” and Pitt’s perceived indifference quickly circulated online.

Commenting on the intense scrutiny, relationship expert Susan Trombetti told Glam that public couples often face unfair pressure.

“The press is looking for anything. The fact that they zeroed in on this ‘non-kiss’ and made such a big deal proves my point,” she said, adding that Pitt’s high-profile status and history with Jolie continue to attract media attention.

Trombetti also questioned the pace at which Pitt and de Ramon’s relationship progressed. The couple were first seen together in December 2022, only months after de Ramon separated from Wesley in April the same year.

Their divorce was finalised in 2024. “It’s not good to go from one relationship to another without processing what went wrong,” she said.

The 26-year age gap between Pitt and de Ramon has also raised eyebrows, with Trombetti noting that such a disparity could present challenges.

“It might be harder on her because they are a generation apart,” she observed, though adding that in celebrity circles such relationships are not unusual.

Meanwhile, a Daily Mail source claimed Pitt is doing everything he can to make the relationship work, despite his demanding work schedule.

“Brad is struggling to keep the love alive. He is flying her to New Zealand to visit and showering her with special surprises and gifts,” the source said.

“He is really in love with her and wants to keep the relationship as solid as can be.”
