Book Named ‘Pakistan in the Eyes of Geologists’ Published in China

ISLAMABAD: A book titled “Pakistan in the Eyes of Geologists”; a scientific monograph supervised by China-SCO Geo-sciences Cooperation Research Center was recently published by Geology Press.

The book is classified into six different parts, which took three years to the completion in collaboration with eight different institutions from both China and Pakistan, comprising China-Pakistan Joint Research Centre on Earth Sciences.

From the perspective of geoscientists, the book narrates the natural scenery, geological evolution, and rich mineral resources, and underlined projects of Pakistan from north to south, with Karakoram Highway also called China-Pakistan Friendship Highway as the major line, China Economic Net (CEN) reported.

Symbolizing Chinese geoscientists serving the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and assisting overseas investment and cooperation of mining enterprises, the book introduces the history of China-Pakistan geoscience cooperation for the last ten years with a combination of graphics and text.

Book Narrates Pak-China Resources

Dr. Zhang Huishan, co-author of the remarked about that book, “Geology is one of the main areas of cooperation through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. Practical cooperation between the two countries in mineral resources and mountain hazards will further enhance local economic development and establish a closer China-Pakistan community of a shared future.”

The outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong and Hou Zengqian, an academician from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, added prefaces for the book respectively, presenting full recognition to Pak-China cooperation in the geological survey and the original inspiration and significance of the newly published book.

According to the publisher, the book displays traditional geological work and portrays the deep emotions of geologists, encouraging more readers to understand and take part in geological work, adding to the construction of BRI.

Besides, the short film “Building Dreams to the West, Exploring Lead and Zinc Resources and Serving the Nation”, has the same theme as that of the book, describes the arduous journey of Chinese geological scientists in exploring lead and zinc mines under BRI.
