STRASBOURG: Interior Minister of France Gerald Darmanin has denounced unacceptable acts against the Muslim community after a boar head was found near a mosque in the east part of the country.
A prosecutor said an investigation into the incident of incitement to racial hatred had been started after worshippers at a mosque in the village of Contrexeville in the Vosges region found the animal’s head.
Earlier, Darmanin stated that two other mosques in north of France had also been degraded.
The minister in a statement on X, formerly Twitter said this weekend mosques in Valenciennes and Fresnes-sur-Escaut were attacked.
He added that a mosque in the Vosges was also targeted. Darmanin condemn these unacceptable acts against the Muslim community.
The incidents took place during the only month of Ramadan, during which believers fast from dawn till dusk along with offering prayers.
