ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Balochistan National Party (BNP), Sardar Akhtar Mengal has announced to tender his resignation from the membership of the National Assembly, local media reported on Tuesday.
As per media reports, Sardar Akhtar Mengal submitted his resignation to the assembly secretary due to the absence of the National Assembly speaker from his chamber. Mengal criticized the government’s failure to address the issues in Balochistan and called for unity among political leaders to address the problems in the province. “Everyone must come together on the problems and a meeting should have been called to discuss it,” he said.
In his address, Akhtar Mengal said he did not even take his party into confidence regarding quitting from the seat of the National Assembly.
