ISLAMABAD: BMW Group Middle East, in collaboration with its official importers across the region, has introduced the BMW XM for the first time in the region.
The luxury crossover SUV, which was unveiled at an electrifying event in Dubai, represents a new interpretation of the sports activity vehicle, resulting from the ground breaking combination of the high-performance BMW M and progressive plug-in hybrid technology.
The new XM is the automotive group’s latest offering to commemorate BMW M’s 50th anniversary. It features the newly developed M Hybrid drive system, an extravagant design, and progressive luxury ambience. It is ideal for the terrain and driving conditions of the Gulf and the Middle East, with 4WD Sand mode designed specifically for navigating terrain on-and-off the road.
‘Made for Middle East’
Dr. Hamid Haqparwar, managing director BMW Group Middle East said that the all-new M xDrive system is ideal for navigating the terrains of the Middle East, and this model is truly made for the region. He said, “Our clients asked for a luxury M sports activity vehicle, and we delivered with the BMW XM. We’ve seen tremendous interest in the region since announcing the XM last year, and we expect the model to be extremely successful in the Middle East.”
“We are confident that the BMW XM will introduce the M experience to new high-performance target groups,” he added.
The BMW XM’s M Hybrid drive system overall produces 653 hp and is powered by a high-revving V8 engine with cutting-edge M TwinPower Turbo technology. The 4.4-liter engine is aided by an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission, producing 800 Nm of maximum torque.
The BMW XM accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds, accompanied by an energising soundtrack amplified for the first time on a BMW M model by hexagonal dual tailpipes arranged one above the other. The BMW IconicSounds Electric, created in collaboration with Hollywood music legend Hans Zimmer, is unique in that it creates a suitable backing track for the electric motor’s power delivery.
In all driving situations, the intelligently managed interaction between engine and the motor delivers a well-resolved performance experience worthy of the M badge. The M Hybrid button on the BMW XM’s centre console can be used to select one of three operating modes, including an electric mode for cruising with zero local emissions at speeds up to 140 km/h and a maximum distance of 88 km in the WLTP cycle. With a touch-capable 14.9-inch control display, the one-piece BMW curved display also seamlessly delivers information for a world of connectivity at customers’ fingertips.
BMW XM is available in authorised BMW showrooms throughout the region.
