LONDON: At least three persons were killed, and several others were missing after a huge blast at a block of residential flats in Jersey’s capital St Helier here on Saturday, the British Channel Island police said.
Police said that the fire was extinguished, but emergency services are underway at the scene. Police have cordoned off the blast scene as scores of ambulances were lined up in queues.

Jersey police chief Robin Smith told media that over a dozen residents are still missing after the explosion at around 4:00 am (0400 GMT), urging people to avoid the area.
