BRUSSELS: Kashmir Council Europe on Tuesday staged a protest demonstration in front of the Indian Embassy in Brussels, Belgium, to mark the Indian Independence Day as Black Day.
The protest was attended by many political and social organizations and other sympathizers of the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s (IIOJK) oppressed people. The participants of the protest were holding banners and placards having slogans in favour of Kashmiris and against the Indian brutalities in the valley, according to Kashmir Media Service.
KCEU Chairman Ali Raza Syed in his address, deplored that India is committing the worst brutalities on Kashmiris. He said that the Indian state terrorism against the suppressed people of IIOJK has increased over the past few years, and Kashmiris are suffering from various issues while key political leaders and human rights workers are being arrested and detained.
Protesters Denounce Indian Actions
He added that Indian forces are killing Kashmiri youth in an extra-judicial manner. India is committing genocide against the Kashmiri people on a large scale and trying to erase their identity to change the demography of the region.
He sought the immediate attention of the international community to the prevailing situation in the valley. He said India should stop its atrocities against the Kashmiri people, release all prisoners and withdraw its forces from IIOJK.
Other speakers also urged the international community to hold New Delhi accountable for its brutalities in the valley. They maintained that the right to self-determination should be granted to the people of IIOJK without any further delay.
