ISLAMABAD: Approximately 76 billion rupees have been disbursed among 8.4 million women through the Benazir Kafaalat initiative of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), officials said on Friday.
The disbursement occurred during the ongoing process for the fourth quarterly tranche of the Financial Year 2022-23.
As of August 18, an official source reported that over Rs 76 billion has been distributed to more than 8.4 million beneficiary women under the Benazir Kafaalat scheme.
What Is Benazir Kafaalat program?
The Benazir Kafaalat program provides a quarterly installment of Rs 9,000 per family to 90 lakh registered beneficiary families.
More than Rs 81 billion to its partner banks, namely Bank Alfalah and Habib Bank Limited (HBL) has already been made. These funds are intended for distribution among the beneficiaries through the banks’ retail distribution networks.
In conjunction with the Benazir Kafaalat initiative, the Benazir Taleemi Wazaif program is also in effect for the children of registered families. However, it’s important to highlight that maintaining a minimum attendance of 70% in school is mandatory to qualify for Taleemi Wazaif benefits, according to a program spokesperson.

It’s worth noting that authentic messages from BISP will only originate from the number 8171; messages from any other number should be treated with caution.
