Bishkek Hosts 22nd Meeting of SCO General Prosecutors

BISHKEK: The 22nd meeting of the General Prosecutors of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization countries was held in Bishkek on July 25 to exchange experience in countering modern threats faced by SCO member states.

Presentations and reports were made by the General Prosecutors of Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, India, Pakistan, Iran, Belarus and heads of the SCO Secretariat and SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure during the meeting at Ala Archa State Residence.

The gathering was devoted to the role of the prosecutor’s office in the contemporary world and the era of digitalization.  General Prosecutor’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic chaired the meeting.

During the event, the General Prosecutors of all SCO member countries summed up the outcomes of the meeting and signed the protocol of the meeting, which reflected the main directions of further cooperation.

The signed protocol includes approved measures to enhance interaction between the general prosecutor’s offices of the SCO members, as well as strategies to improve law and order and security in the region.

Pakistan on the occasion took over the chairmanship of the next meeting of the General Prosecutors of SCO countries from Kyrgyzstan.
