LOS ANGELES: American singer and songwriter Billie Eilish has hit back at critics who have issues with her boyish and evolving style.

In her Instagram posts, the 21-year-old Grammy Award winner said, “I spent the initial five years of my career getting OBLITERATED by you fools for being boyish and for my dressing and I was constantly told if I acted like a woman, I’d be hotter.” She also shared a series of photographs on her Instagram handle over the weekend.

“Now, when I feel comfortable wearing anything remotely fitting or feminine, I am a sellout and CHANGED,” the caption over her picture continued. “And ‘what happened to her’ ‘OMG, it’s not the same Billie. She is just like the rest blah blah.”

Eilish went on to call out the “bozos” and “true idiots.” She added, “Let women exist.”

She posts some more postings. She wrote, “FUN FACT! Did you know that women are multifaceted!!!!!??? Shocking for you, right?? Believe it or not, women could be interested in many things.”

“Also, that femininity does not equal weakness???!!!! OMG?! Insane, right? Who knew,” she added. “And also, totally unheard of and insane to want to express yourself differently at different times.”

Eilish claimed to have lost 100,000 social media followers after posting a new look to Elle magazine in 2021.

She told the magazine, “People hold on to these memories and have an attachment, but it is very dehumanizing.”
