ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while rejecting the United States’ listing of Pakistan as being of a specific concern with regard to religious freedoms pointed out America’s bias as India had somehow been unable to make the list.

In November, the US listed Pakistan together with 11 other countries as those which tolerated or engaged in severe violations of religious violations. Also making the list were China, Russia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and North Korea

Channel News Asia interviewed Bilawal during his official visit to Singapore whose content it posted on its website on Wednesday.

Fascist India actions cause for concern

Even though India has been cited as a concern across the world with respect to human rights and in particular with the Muslim minority’s right to religious freedom.

Referring to Israel, FM Bilawal stated, the country while being another ally of US carries out curbs against Palestine and its own Muslim minority.

At the same time, Bilawal accepted Pakistan’s issues with violence and extremism based on religion, while pledging his government’s special focus to tackle them.

He stated that as the issue is close to his heart, America’s direction on who is doing what is not required.

Bilawal added that the leadership is aware of the challenges faced by Pakistan and is serious about dealing with them. The reason behind this move is not because of US or any other country. The leadership is doing this to safeguard the country’s future.

Fascist India increasingly hostile against Muslims

Regarding India, Bilawal said the country had transformed into a much worse place.

He added that while growing up he had seen an India that had been the world’s largest democracy. It used to be a secular country and had been home to all citizens irrespective of being Hindus, Muslims, Christians, or Buddhists. He added that today’s India is not the one he had witnessed while growing up.

Bilawal further said at the present, India was increasingly fascist against Muslims both inside and outside its borders while hostile to Christians inside its borders.
