DADU (Sindh), Pakistan: Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, has once again targeted his former ally Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supreme leader Nawaz Sharif for ‘snatching’ electoral symbol of the rivals.
Addressing an election rally in Dadu on Thursday, Bilawal accused Nawaz of orchestrating the arrests of political opponents from the comfort of his home and snatching their election symbols.
“This lion, eyeing a fourth term as prime minister, sucks the blood of the people, and from the comfort of his home, instructs the arrests of opponents and snatching of their electoral symbol to secure his victory [in polls],” he said.
Once again taking a jibe at the PML-N, Bilawal said that the upcoming general elections will be a showdown between the arrow and lion — the electoral symbols of PPP and the PML-N. “I urge you, do not waste your votes on anyone but the arrow,” Bilawal made a passionate appeal to the public.
Bilawal also outlined his vision, promising to expand welfare programmes, stating, “It is my dream that no citizen or child sleeps hungry. He promised to start programmes to eradicate hunger at the union council-level.
Vowing to confront Nawaz in Punjab, Bilawal said, “Tomorrow, I will go to Punjab, where I will face this lion. I will tell the people of South Punjab about how to defeat this lion.”
He urged the people not to give leadership role to someone who has already failed three times as prime minister, urging the masses to give him a chance instead to serve people. “Give Bilawal a chance, and I will change the fate of this country. The ‘lion’ or any other party has no plan,” he added.
