WASHINGTON DC: President Joe Biden is concerned about the release of classified documents regarding Israel’s plans on attack on Iran, said a White House spokesman on Monday.
US officials have confirmed that the administration is probing an unauthorized release of classified documents that evaluates Israel’s possible attack on Iran.
White House national security spokesman John Kirby on Monday said that the administration was not certain if the classified information was hacked or leaked.
Kirby went on to say that administration officials don’t have any indication at this point that more documents like would be released or not. He added the Pentagon is thoroughly investing the matter.
“We’re deeply concerned and the president remains deeply concerned about any leakage of classified information into the public domain. That is not supposed to happen and it’s unacceptable when it does,” Kirby said.
The documents are associated to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and National Security Agency, and said that Israel was still moving military assets to carryout a military strike on Iran.
The documents, which are considered secret, were posted on the social media app Telegram.
