WASHINGTON: Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont has said that Israel is losing the war of public opinion worldwide amid war in the Gaza Strip.
Sanders said that Israel cannot justify war against the people of Palestine and horrific damage to human life in the Gaza Strip. He said that Israel is completely losing the war in terms of how the international community is looking at the current situation. Quoting the increasing death toll and huge displacement of Palestinians, the Senator said the United States “has got to press and ask Israeli Prime Minister to end this disastrous military offensive. He added that it is a humanitarian catastrophe.

He thought that it would be irresponsible for Washington to give Netanyahu more aid to continue to wage this terrible war. He said” What American Congress has got to do is make it clear to Israel that they are not going to give it a blank check to kill innocent Palestinians’ women and children in the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, around 18,000 Palestinian people have been killed and 49,500 wounded in Israeli assaults on the Gaza Strip since October 7, the Gaza health ministry spokesperson stated on Sunday.
The spokesperson, Ashraf Al-Qidra, said that the count included 297 people killed and over 550 injured in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) head said it would be all but impossible to recover the “catastrophic” health situation in the Gaza Strip even as the board approved an emergency WHO motion by consensus to ensure more medical access to the enclave.
