Bento Cake Recipe

Ingredients

For the Sponge Cake:

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 ½ cups icing sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder

For the Whipped Cream:

  • 2 cups dairy whipping cream
  • 1/4 tsp blue food color
  • 3 prepared sponge cakes
  • Whipped cream as needed
  • Sugar syrup as needed
  • Coffee syrup (1 tbsp coffee + 2 tbsp water)
  • Chocolate chips as needed
  • Fruit cocktail as needed
  • White fondant
  • Cake decoration pearls as needed

Instructions:

In a bowl, beat eggs, icing sugar, and vanilla essence until foamy and pale.

Next, add flour and baking powder, and mix well.

Pour 1 cup of batter into each of 3 cake molds. Bake at 160°C for 15-20 minutes. Remove from oven and set aside.

In a bowl, beat the dairy whipping cream until fluffy with stiff peaks. (Chill the cream overnight and whip with an electric beater.)

Divide 1 ½ cups of whipped cream into 3 bowls. Add purple, blue, and pink food color separately to each bowl and mix well. Set aside.

In another bowl, mix 1 ½ cups of whipped cream with melted dark chocolate for chocolate frosting. Set aside.

Cut one cake into 3 discs. Spread sugar syrup and whipped cream between each disc, stacking them. Cover with whipped cream, decorate with white fondant and baking pearls. Set aside.

Cut another cake into 3 discs. Spread coffee syrup, chocolate chips, and chocolate frosting between each disc, stacking them. Cover with whipped cream, decorate with baking pearls. Set aside.

Cut the last cake into 3 discs. Spread sugar syrup, whipped cream, and fruit cocktail between each disc, stacking them. Cover with whipped cream, decorate with white fondant and baking pearls. Set aside.

Bento Cakes are ready. Serve and enjoy.
