MINSK: Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko has touched down in the Republic of Uzbekistan for an important working visit, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties and exploring avenues for enhanced cooperation.
Leading a government delegation, Golovchenko is set to participate in a meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan.
The visit is marked by the inclusion of key events, including the Uzbek-Belarusian business forum, where promising areas for the development of trade and economic cooperation between the two nations will be discussed.
Collaboration Between Belarus and Uzbekistan
The forum is expected to host over 60 representatives from Belarus, spanning ministries, departments, concerns, and enterprises across various sectors. These sectors include manufacturing, mechanical engineering, light and food industries, timber, pharmaceuticals, veterinary medicine, and wholesale trade.
Uzbekistan will be represented by approximately 200 government and business delegates. Notably, trade between Belarus and Uzbekistan exceeded $500 million in 2022.
As part of the visit, the Belarusian delegation, led by Prime Minister Golovchenko, will tour enterprises in Samarkand, offering insights into potential areas of collaboration. A working meeting between Prime Minister Golovchenko and his Uzbek counterpart, Abdulla Aripov, is also on the agenda.
