Beijing says Chinese embassy in Pakistan is verifying situation
This was stated by Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin during his regular briefing in Beijing. Regarding the arrest of a Chinese citizen working at a dam project in Pakistan, the spokesperson said that the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan was verifying the situation in the area.
He added that if the matter concerns Chinese citizens, the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad will provide consular protection within the scope of their duty.
According to the media, “A Chinese citizen at a dam project in Pakistan is being held in police protection following workers accused him of blasphemy.”
