GIRONA: Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal has scored twice in the first half of the game to secure a commanding 4-1 win against Girona on Sunday, extending their flawless start to the LaLiga season with a 5th consecutive victory.

Yamal has opened the scoring in the 30th minute of the clash and added a 2nd goal in the 37th minute, giving Barcelona a very comfortable lead. Dani Olmo also increased the advantage right following half-time with a close-range end, and then Pedri added a fourth goal with a tap-in in the 64th minute of the clash. Girona’s substitute, Stuani, achieved a consolation goal in the 80th minute in the match, but Barcelona were reduced to ten men shortly after when Ferran Torres received a red card for a dangerous studs-up challenge on Asprilla.
Barcelona side now sit at the top of the LaLiga standings with 15 points, four clear of Real Madrid and Villarreal. Girona are 7th with seven points.
Barcelona will shift their focus to the Champions League as they make preparation to face Monaco on Thursday.
