  • The Pakistan team arrive in Dhaka to face an in-form Bangladesh side
  • Monsoon rains in Dhaka may influence pitch conditions and add unpredictability

DKAHA, Bangladesh: Bangladesh on Thursday named an unchanged squad for their upcoming three-match T20I series against Pakistan, set to be played at Dhaka’s iconic Shere Bangla National Stadium on July 20, 22, and 24.

Fresh off a commanding 2-1 comeback win in Colombo, where they overturned an early series deficit to crush Sri Lanka by eight wickets in the decider, Bangladesh are buzzing with confidence.

Litton Das, who scripted history as the first Bangladesh captain to win two overseas T20I series, once again takes the reins, determined to lead his men against a historically dominant Pakistani side.

Pakistan, who have already touched down in the capital, await a stern challenge from a resurgent Bangladesh outfit, whose players appear to be peaking at the perfect moment.

Litton’s form with the bat, complemented by the youthful firepower of Tanzid Hasan, Towhid Hridoy, and Shamim Hossain, gives the Tigers plenty of bite.

In the bowling department, off spinner Mahedi Hasan turned heads with a sensational 4 for 11 in the third T20I against Sri Lanka.

While Rishad Hossain and the experienced Mustafizur Rahman kept things miserly with economy rates under six an over, showcasing Bangladesh’s growing depth and tactical discipline in the shortest format.

However, history favours the men in green. Pakistan boasts a commanding head-to-head record, having won 19 of the 22 T20Is played between the two nations, including a 3-0 sweep in Lahore earlier this year.

Their formidable top order and world-class bowling attack present a stern test for the Tigers, especially on home soil where expectations now soar.

Adding to the suspense is Dhaka’s unpredictable monsoon, with heavy rains in recent days throwing a curveball at pitch preparations.

The conditions could add drama to the night fixtures, potentially testing both squads’ adaptability and nerve under pressure.

But if recent performances are anything to go by, Bangladesh look more united, composed, and dangerous than ever—eager not just to compete, but to rewrite the narrative against their seasoned rivals.
