DHAKA: Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bowl first against Pakistan in the second One-Day International (ODI) of the three-match series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Friday.
The hosts currently lead the series 1–0 after registering a convincing eight-wicket victory in the opening match, completing the chase with 209 balls remaining. The third and final ODI of the series will also be played at the same venue on March 15.

Pakistan, led by Shaheen Shah Afridi, are under pressure to respond after a big defeat in the first ODI. Bangladesh secured that match by eight wickets after dismissing the visitors for just 114 runs and completing the chase in only 15.1 overs.
The series forms part of Pakistan’s rebuilding phase in the ODI format, with several new faces introduced following the T20 World Cup. The touring side is missing some established names, including former captain Babar Azam, as selectors test younger talent ahead of future international assignments.
Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz has repeatedly preferred chasing under lights in Dhaka, citing conditions that tend to assist bowlers early before easing for batting later in the evening.
