ISLAMABAD: The Bangladesh men’s cricket team arrived in Pakistan on Sunday ahead of their three-match T20 International series, set to begin on 28 May at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

The tour, initially planned as a five-match series, has been shortened due to logistical challenges, while both boards confirmed the new schedule following successful high-level talks.

An initial group of 10 Bangladeshi players landed in Lahore as part of the first phase of the tour.

This group includes Hasan Mahmud, Tanvir Islam, Parvez Hossain Emon, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib.

The remaining squad members are expected to arrive tomorrow.

Originally, Bangladesh were scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on 21 May in two groups for a five-match T20I series, with the opening fixture set for 25 May in Faisalabad.

Revised schedule

However, due to logistical difficulties, the tour has been reduced to three matches.

This revised arrangement was confirmed following a productive meeting between PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and senior officials from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), including BCB Chairman Nazmul Abedeen and President Farooq Ahmed.

Following constructive discussions, both cricket boards agreed to move forward with the adjusted schedule, resolving any prior concerns.

As per the updated itinerary, all three T20 Internationals will now take place at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on 28 May, 30 May, and 1 June.
