LAHORE: The Bangladesh cricket team’s tour of Pakistan has been officially confirmed, ending the uncertainty surrounding the series.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the revised schedule now includes three T20 Internationals, all to be played in Lahore, instead of the originally planned five matches. The exact dates will be announced in due course.
The confirmation followed an extended meeting between PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and his counterparts from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) – Chairman Nazmul Abedeen and President Farooq Ahmed.

Following the successful discussions, both boards agreed to proceed with the series, despite earlier concerns
The three-match T20I series significantly develops cricketing ties between the two countries.
Maintaining cricketing relations
The PCB Chairman thanked the BCB leadership for finalising the tour and reaffirming their commitment to maintaining bilateral cricketing relations.
Bangladesh will be captained by experienced wicketkeeper-batsman Litton Das, who was officially appointed T20I captain earlier this year after Najmul Hossain Shanto stepped down. Off-spinner Mahedi Hasan has been named vice-captain for both the UAE and Pakistan legs of the tour.
It is worth noting that the series had faced doubts due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan, as well as the mid-season postponement of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Originally, Bangladesh were set to arrive in Pakistan on 21 May in two groups, with a five-match T20I series scheduled to commence on 25 May in Faisalabad. However, due to logistical changes and security considerations, the series has been revised to three matches, all of which will be hosted in Lahore.
