ISLAMABAD: The newly-appointed governor of Balochistan Jafar Khan Mandokhel on Tuesday called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad.
The prime minister congratulated Jafar Khan Mandokhel for assuming office of the provincial governor and expressed best wishes for him. During the meeting, both discussed matters relating to Balochistan province.

Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhel took oath as Governor of Balochistan on May 6. Mandokhel belongs to a political family. His father Sheikh Janan Khan Mandokhel was a member of the Pakistan Muslim League (Qayyum group).
He received his education in Quetta. Under the supervision of his father, Mandokhel started his political career and joined the Muslim Student Federation (MSF) in 1974. Later, he was elected President of MSF. He was elected MPA Balochistan five times from his native constituency of Zhob.
