Balochistan Governor Highlights CPEC’s Role in Pakistan’s Economic Transformation

QUETTA: Balochistan Governor Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar emphasized the transformative potential of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in strengthening the nation’s economy and specifically benefiting Balochistan.

He predicted that Gwadar Shipyard would soon become a regional hub for constructing new ships, thereby boosting the commercial shipbuilding and repair industry and creating valuable employment opportunities for Gwadar residents.

Governor Kakar stressed that involving the general population in economic activities could help stabilize the country’s economic system. During a meeting with former federal Minister Zubaida Jalal at the Governor House, he highlighted the growing number of youth pursuing higher education in Makran Division, which would yield positive outcomes.

He also recognized the importance of fishing in Gwadar and recommended enhancing the capacity of local fishermen while providing them with modern facilities. Governor Kakar expressed optimism that Gwadar had the potential to lead the country and the province out of economic challenges, signaling the prospect of a brighter future.
