QUETTA: The Balochistan government appointed thirty-four doctors as police surgeons and Medical Legal Officers in all districts of the province.
According to a press release issued by the provincial health department, on the recommendations of the Medical Superintendents of the Health Department, the provincial government appointed thirty-four doctors as Police Surgeons and Medical Legal Officers in all districts.
The Police Surgeon and Medico-Legal Officer will perform duties under the Anti-Rape (Investigations) Act 2021 under the Anti-Rape Crisis Cells (ARCC), the press release added.
Doctors to Assist Police in Investigations
The Police Surgeon and Medico-Legal Officer will prepare reports on the post-mortem of deceased persons, provide medical help and examination to the police in cases of accidents and crimes, as well as medico-legal investigations as per law.
