Balochistan CM Calls for Comprehensive Plan to Enhance Medical Services

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has urged concerned authorities to develop a detailed action plan within 30 days to prevent resource wastage and enhance medical services in hospitals. 

He made these remarks during a meeting of the Health Department, which was attended by various officials including Member of Balochistan Assembly Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi and Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan.

During the meeting, CM Bugti emphasized the urgent appointment of surgeons in district headquarters hospitals within ten days and the continuous availability of medicines in all healthcare facilities. He also highlighted the need to address corruption issues in medicine procurement.

Expressing concern over an advance payment of one billion rupees for health sector projects with incomplete work, CM Bugti directed the Chief Secretary to take action and file FIRs against responsible people. He also instructed the Anti-corruption department to investigate and arrest officials involved in the matter.

Moving forward, CM Bugti emphasized the importance of including a Schedule of New Expenditure (SNE) in project considerations and closing inactive primary health centers. He stressed the recruitment of doctors based on merit and their deployment to respective districts.

Additionally, CM Bugti announced the highest civilian award for Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi for her contributions to drafting the Health Care Commission and exceptional services in the health sector. He also called for the expansion of the Burn Unit and the establishment of a modern Burn Center with advanced medical facilities.
