Instructions:
For the Pie Crust:
• In a food processor, combine the flour, salt, and sugar.
• Add the cold, cubed butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
• With the processor running, slowly add the ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together.
• Divide the dough into two equal portions, shape each into a disk, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
For the Apple Filling:
• Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
• Toss the sliced apples with lemon juice in a large bowl to prevent browning.
• Combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour in a separate bowl.
• Add the sugar mixture to the apples and toss until the apples are evenly coated.
• Assembling the Pie:
• Roll out one disk of the chilled pie crust on a lightly floured surface to fit your dish.
• Place the rolled-out crust into the pie dish, pressing it gently into the bottom and sides.
