ISLAMABAD: Bahrain’s Interior Minister, Lieutenant General Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, held a telephonic conversation with Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, on Thursday, during which he strongly condemned the suicide bombing in Islamabad that claimed 12 lives earlier this week.

During the call, the Bahraini minister expressed deep sorrow and regret over the loss of innocent lives.

Lieutenant General Al Khalifa extended his deepest condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, emphasising that Bahrain stands firmly with Pakistan in this time of grief.

He further reaffirmed Bahrain’s unwavering support for Pakistan in its fight against terrorism and its continued efforts to promote peace and stability.

A suicide bomber detonated explosives outside Islamabad’s Judicial Complex on Tuesday, killing at least 12 people and injuring 27 others, in what authorities described as a terrorist act orchestrated by an Indian-backed and Afghan Taliban–facilitated militant network, “Fitna-ul-Khawarij.”

The “Indian-sponsored” terrorist group, Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP),  claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing. The banned TTP terrorist group is based in Afghanistan and involved in terrorist attacks inside Pakistan.

Federal authorities have announced notable progress in the investigation into the suicide bombing, confirming several key facilitators and handlers have been detained.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi told reporters that the individuals arrested “played central roles in the planning, sheltering and logistical arrangements” of the attacker.
