BAHAWALPUR: The district management has set up flood relief camps at various locations in the district that are close to the banks of the Sutlej River.
The step has been taken on the direction of the provincial government. Several flood relief camps have reportedly been established in Bahawalpur Sadar Tehsil, Hasilpur, Khairpur Tamewali, and other regions to provide relief and rescue to people who had evacuated their homes after the Sutlej River received medium to high floodwaters, according to official sources in Punjab Emergency Service Department, Rescue 1122.
Zaheer Anwar Jappa, deputy commissioner for Bahawalpur went to the flood relief camp set up at the Government Elementary School Israni in the Khairpur Tamewali Tehsil. He also looked over the medical facility and flood relief camp there. —APP
