LONDON, England: Pakistan captain Babar Azam had a memorable encounter with Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar at London airport before flying to the USA for the T20 World Cup 2024. The two cricket stars were seen having a warm conversation in a lounge at the Queen’s Terminal in London.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared a video on Saturday showing the Pakistan cricket team departing from London and arriving in Dallas. Babar expressed his delight in meeting Gavaskar, who has often praised Babar’s batting prowess.
The Pakistan team reached Dallas for their first T20 World Cup match against the USA on June 6. They had been in England for a four-match series, which they lost 2-0. Unlike other teams, Pakistan will not play warm-up matches before the World Cup, having already played 11 T20Is against New Zealand, Ireland, and England in preparation.
