India easily achieved Pakistan’s target of 192 runs in 30.3 overs at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, securing a comprehensive victory. The Green Shirts went from 155-2 to being all out for 191 in the 43rd over, witnessing a spectacular batting collapse.
India’s Rohit Sharma played a pivotal role in their win, scoring 86 off 63 balls, including 12 boundaries. This victory marked India’s eighth World Cup win against Pakistan, maintaining their unbeaten record against the Green Shirts in ODI World Cups.
Babar Azam stated in the post-match ceremony, “We started well with a good partnership”, he said, adding they planned to play their normal game and build partnerships.
