ISLAMABAD: Azerbaijan’s President, Ilham Aliyev, on Thursday visited the martyrs’ memorial at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad.
He was received by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi upon his arrival at the monument and laid a floral wreath.
A smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army presented a salute to the visiting dignitary.
Earlier President Ilham Aliyev arrived on a two-day official trip to Pakistan. During his stay in Islamabad, President Ilham Aliyev will hold meetings with Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Pakistan and Azerbaijan will engage in wide-ranging talks on areas of mutual interest to further strengthen bilateral cooperation. Officials said that several Agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) are likely to be signed during the trip.
