They also emphasized the contributions of recent contacts between the prosecutor general and senior military officials of Azerbaijan and Iran to boost bilateral ties.

Bayramov said the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan has suffered setbacks due to provocative actions by the Yerevan administration.

Since 1991 ties between Azerbaijan and Armenia have been tense when the Armenian military occupied Nagorno-Karabakh, a territory internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan.
