Azerbaijan: Election Drive of Presidential Candidates Completed

BAKU: Pre-election campaigning in the presidential polls to be held on February 7 has concluded in Azerbaijan. As per local media report, a “day of silence” has also been announced in the central Asian country.

It may be recalled that according to the calendar plan for the preparation and holding of the presidential polls, the pre-election drive is completed 24 hours before the voting. As per local media report, seven candidates are contesting for the post of Azerbaijan’s president.

Meanwhile, a polling station was constituted at Azerbaijan’s embassy of China in connection with the extraordinary presidential polls scheduled for February 7.

Azerbaijani nationals living in China or on a long-term foreign mission will be able to cast their votes at the polling station set up in the embassy from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time on February 7. Citizens of Azerbaijan who have reached the age of 18 can cast votes in elections with a valid passport or ID card of Azerbaijan.
