FORWARD POST, LOC, AJK: Away from their families but close to their resolve to defend the country’s borders, Pakistani soldiers stood alert along the Line of Control (LoC) as the nation is celebrating Eid with full religious zeal and fervour on Saturday.
“Our message to the nation on the occasion of Eid is that they enjoy Eid without any fear as we stand alert here,” said a Pak Army soldier as he exclusively talked to WeNews team which visited the LoC on Eid day.
Pakistani front-line troops deployed along the LoC in Azad Jammu and Kashmir greeted one another on Eid and exchanged sweets. They said they celebrate Eid like a family and added they feel satisfied and happy over performing their duty and fulfilling professional obligation.
The Pak Army officers especially celebrated Eid festivities with officers and paid tribute to all martyrs and their families for their contributions toward a peaceful Pakistan. They said they feel proud and happy in their uniforms as Eid the attire.
WeNews team reached the soldiers walking on a rough and hilly terrain in Azad Jammu and Kashmir to witness how the troops celebrate Eid while defending the country’s borders. While talking to WeNews, the Commanding Officer said that there is not much difference between the Eid being celebrated at homes and along the LoC. “We are like a family. The thing that makes some point an Eid occasion is satisfaction and happiness… As our families are enjoying Eid at homes, we feel happy here while with our soldiers,” he said.
He said, “Celebrating Eid is of course of vital importance but defending country is our top most priority and no matter if we have to compromise the Eid celebrations”. He asked Pakistani nation to keep their morale high as they were at the borders to sacrifice their lives even to safeguard them. Another soldier said that their families also feel proud of them as they were performing their duty.
