OSLO: Police officials said on Friday that at least three people, including a foreign tourist, were killed when several avalanches hit north part of Norway. Police said several tourists were caught in an avalanche near the Kavringtinden peak today’s afternoon. Police confirmed that five foreign tourists were also traveling in the area when multiple avalanches hit the spot. Police officials said that one foreign tourist was killed in the mishap in Norway.

Police officials told a press conference that two people were injured in the incident. It added that one wounded person was in critical condition after receiving major injuries. Officials added that they are trying to identify the victims and contacting consular services to inform their families or relatives.
Dan-Havard Johnsen, mayor of the city, told the media that the tourists were from Italy, but it had not been confirmed whether the killed tourist was Italian. The officials said that after one hour after the first incident, they also received notice of another avalanche in Reinoya Island. A top police official confirmed that two persons were killed in the avalanche. Police expressed fear that as many as 140 goats might be suffered due to the latest incident in the area.
