Australia’s Prime Minister Tests Positive for COVID-19

SYDNEY: Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has confirmed that he has tested positive for the deadly virus Covid-19.  He issued a message via his social media account and said, ” I tested positive today’s afternoon”.

He further tweeted that he is going to isolate himself and will do work from home after testing positive for Covid-19.  He also encouraged people to test and take extraordinary measures to keep their neighbors and families well.

In Australia Cases to peak before December end

Health Department issued recent data about Covid-19 and said that 100,422 cases of Covid19 were reported in the country.

It may be recalled that Covid-19 cases are increasing in Australia but health officials are confident that the peak is going to hit before the last week of December.

Reports said that cases in New South Wales have doubled as compared to the start of November.

Local media said that an average 14,346 Covid-19 cases are being reported daily in Australia as hospitalizations raised by 19.9 percent.

Health officials said that 1,481 patients are being treated in different hospitals in the country. Some reports said that 38 people have been shifted to intensive care units of the hospitals.
