ISLAMABAD: The Australian cricket team is set to tour Pakistan in early 2026 for a white-ball series. The series will take place in two phases, with the first phase featuring a three-match T20 series scheduled from January 30 to February 5, 2026, ahead of the T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
The second phase will follow the World Cup, with a three-match ODI series slated to run from March 13-19, 2026.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to announce the venues and a detailed schedule for both series in the coming weeks.
During an online press conference, Cricket Australia (CA) CEO Todd Greenberg expressed his optimism about the tour, emphasising its importance in the bilateral cricketing calendar.
“This series against Pakistan is an important part of our schedule. There has been good communication between the two countries, and we are excited about this opportunity to play more series in Pakistan,” Greenberg said.
Looking back at the successful 2022 tour, Greenberg highlighted the warm reception Australia received from Pakistan. The tour marked a historic return of Australian cricket to Pakistan after a 24-year gap.
The most recent series between the two teams took place in Australia in November 2024, where Pakistan, under captain Mohammad Rizwan, secured a memorable 2-1 victory in the ODI series, their first win in Australia since 2002.
However, Australia regained momentum by winning the T20I series 3-0.
This upcoming series is expected to further strengthen the cricketing ties between Australia and Pakistan, continuing the tradition of exciting and competitive cricket between the two nations.
