LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the schedule for Australia’s three-match T20 International series against Pakistan, set to be played later this month at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
According to the PCB, the series will take place on 29 January, 31 January and 1 February, with all matches scheduled as evening fixtures. Australia’s T20I squad is expected to arrive in Lahore on Wednesday, 28 January.
The series is seen as important preparation for both sides ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka from 7 February to 8 March. Pakistan have been placed in Group A alongside India, the United States, the Netherlands and Namibia, while Australia will compete in Group B with Sri Lanka, Ireland, Zimbabwe and Oman.
High-quality cricket
This tour will mark Australia’s third visit to Pakistan since the resumption of international cricket in the country in 2022. During their previous visit in March–April 2022, Australia played a historic Test series, followed by ODIs and a lone T20I. They also featured in matches during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 held in Pakistan.
PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmed Syed welcomed the announcement, saying the series would provide fans with high-quality cricket and give both teams valuable match practice ahead of the World Cup. He urged supporters to turn out in large numbers to back the teams.
Pakistan and Australia have played 28 T20Is to date, with Australia winning 14 matches and Pakistan claiming 12 victories, alongside one tie and one no result.
