BRISBANE: Local officials said that 4 Australian military aircrews are missing following their chopper ditched in waters off the northeast coast while on a major military exercise with the US.

Australian Defence Minister Richard Marles also confirmed the accident. The Minister said the MRH-90 Taipan went down late Friday night, and speaking about more than ten hours later. The country’s Defence minister said that the four crew members are still missing after the crash.

After the crash, the Defence officials announced a pause in the major joint US-Australian military exercise as the search continues.
