CANBERRA, Australia: Australia has issued a stern warning to its citizens regarding travel to Israel, urging those currently in the region to depart while commercial flights remain operational. This advisory comes as tensions escalate between Israel and Hezbollah, a militant group based in Lebanon, raising significant security concerns.

Foreign Minister Penny Wong highlighted the potential for the security situation in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories to “deteriorate rapidly.” The Australian government noted a heightened risk of military actions and terrorist attacks against Israel and its interests across the Middle East. Consequently, several airlines have either reduced or suspended flights to Israel due to the ongoing conflict and subsequent airspace closures.
