QUETTA: Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, the Chief Minister of Balochistan, has stated that August 5, the day when India altered the special status of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), will be etched in history as a dark day. In his message on the fourth anniversary of the revocation of the IIOJK’s special status, the Chief Minister emphasized that the series of repressive measures by the Indian state in IIOJK continues, leading to the martyrdom of numerous innocent Kashmiris.
Bizenjo underscored the troubling pattern of settling extremists by confiscating land from Kashmiris and noted efforts to change the demographic makeup by diminishing the Muslim majority. He deplored the dire circumstances faced by the Kashmiri people, enduring significant suffering, and called on the global community to recognize the oppressive and ruthless actions of Indian state institutions.
UNSC Resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir
Reiterating the United Nations resolution, he emphasized the crucial importance of granting Kashmiris their inherent right to self-determination. Showing unwavering solidarity, the people of Balochistan firmly stand by the just cause of Kashmiris’ self-determination and pledge to raise their voices against state oppression in IIOJK through all relevant platforms.
It is worth mentioning that today marks the fourth anniversary of India’s unilateral action in the IIOJK, involving the revocation of Articles 370 and 35A, which stripped IIOJK of its special status.
