ATC Suspends Rana Sanaullah’s Arrest Warrants in Life Threats Case

GUJRANWALA: A Gujranwala anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday suspended arrest warrants issued for Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah in a case linked to hurling life threats, local media reported.

ATC judge Rana Zahid Iqbal Khan heard the case registered against Sanaullah in August last year. During the proceedings, the ATC suspended the minister’s arrest warrants against surety bonds worth Rs100,000. The court adjourned the proceedings until April 28.

Case against Rana Sanaullah

The warrants were issued against Rana Sanaullah in a case filed at Gujrat’s Industrial Area Police Station against the senior PML-N leader in August 2022 on the complaint of PML-Q leader Shahkaz Aslam for hurling life threats to the then Chief Secretary of Punjab and his family members.

According to the first information report’s (FIR) content, Sanaullah blatantly targeted honorable judiciary and government officials in 2021.
